So it seems our little Throwback Three Line Thursday is a lovely addition to the blog here at Ink In Thirds. I would like to encourage you to spread the word and enter weekly. I will be including some of the poems from the weekly contributions in upcoming issues of Ink In Thirds Magazine, so if you’d like a chance to be published participate weekly. Also if you have a Twitter handle include it below your submission.
Welcome to a brand new year! Happy writing!
If you don’t know what TLT is all about here are the cliff notes:
- Write something that will move us! Inspired by the photo above.
- Brevity is key.
- What can you say, convey, express in only three lines? Can you paint a visual picture with only words? Tell an entire story that begs to be read? Use your imagination.
- No titles. Let’s keep it about the words.
- 10 words max per line. 3 lines.
- Post your poem in the comments and comment on others. Have fun!
This week’s prompt: New Outlook
All photography used for TLT purposes is licensed under Creative Commons Zero images.
Love and Ink,
Grace Black
his glasses remain
in the spot
where he left them

Black borders the windows of my past life
But the mourning is over
And now I follow the sun

Teary eyed, she took her rose-tinted glasses
and painted them over in black, thinking
it better to be blind than so stupid.

I can see clearly, now
cleaning dust from my glasses…
How the world has changed!

Spectacles reflect various object’s light,
A Multi-colored reality, glazed glass reflects,
Windows of your personality, writing on spec, in sight.

My addiction, my lifetime companion
You sharpen my will and ease my fear
You blur my vision and open my heart.

The clown in the frame,
Turned out to be her lover’s picture
Vision made all the difference!

Yoghurt is so eloquent,
It speaks to me in Greek,
So from now on, I shall eat it every week.

If, that time comes when my tears wash the terrors
from my eyes – will I see hope and trust and
heart again? If, I cannot imagine that time – what then?

(feeling terribly grim and sad today – almost didn’t write – love to all here)

I’m happy they made you smile. I have never been called nostalgicablog before (except by my Mum, obviously). I kind of like it, though most people call me by the abbreviated form which is Steve.
