Take a break, get inspired, and learn a bit more about Jordan Lewis. Here is our twist on an interview.
- A quote that inspires you:
- Your writing process described as a song: Coffee Cold – Galt MacDermot
Slow and deliberate and then hard and fast and reckless.
- You’re a writer so tell us with your words why you write. But please don’t bore us:
I write for the same reason a heroin addict fixes up—to chase a high. That high is the feeling of having articulated my own deep confusion, for a word or a line or a page, and of bearing my insecurities to the reader. Like an open wound to the air. I write because I’m selfish, because I want to assault the reader with a passage that fills their head fully and completely for a moment so that they can’t think of anything else, and because there’s nothing in the world better than the right word in the right place.
- What is a recent story or poem you’ve had published elsewhere that we should read?
“Welcome to Bridgeton” was published in Fabula Argentea
Jordan lives and writes in Toronto, Canada. His writing reflects a desperate attempt at understanding himself and the mad world he lives in. He loves eating, drinking, the Maples Leafs, and Tori.
