May your life have poetry and your poetry, life…
Three Line Thursday remains a lovely addition to the blog here at Ink In Thirds. I would like to encourage you to spread the word and enter weekly. I will be including some of the poems from the weekly contributions in upcoming issues of Ink In Thirds Magazine, so if you’d like a chance to be published: participate weekly. Also, if you have a Twitter handle include it below your submission.
Happy writing!
If you don’t know what #TLT is all about here are the cliff notes:
- Write something that will move us! Inspired by the photo above.
- DO NOT include the prompt word.
- Brevity is key.
- What can you say, convey, express in only three lines? Can you paint a visual picture with only words? Tell an entire story that begs to be read? Use your imagination.
- No titles. Let’s keep it about the words.
- 10 words max per line. 3 lines.
- Post your poem in the comments and comment on others. Have fun!
This week’s prompt: Bird
All photography used for TLT purposes is licensed under Creative Commons Zero images.

the being set free and remaining – wonderful – to me it alludes to memory.

Bright colors and sweet scents seduced
Primal mechanism triggered into action
Gluttonous song oblivious of pierced flesh

Bit of a darker take on the bird needing to eat! :-) Let’s hope the fruit didn’t mind?

Wash away rage and uncover a fragile heart

Thank you so much! And, I am sorry….obviously this applies to my current situation as well and it is very hard, so whatever you are going through, I am sorry you are having to go through it.

Likewise! It is indeed very hard. They’re hurt, I’m hurt and the one doesn’t see the other’s fragile heart. Good luck with yours.

This was my favorite this week. The way you combined the elements of the photo was masterful. And all the meaning you packed into such limited space. Awesome work.

Really strong. A whole story is told here. A main character outlined.

See comments above re having been before … I also used to leave sunflower heads around for birds to feed from. I haven’t planted any in a while though.

Good to see you again, my little friend
Bearing dreams of purity on another busy day
Though so small, still so steady, you take me away.

See my comments above about having been to read but it didn’t show! Birds do live as we like to be – airborn (taken from another haiku I wrote for another project some time ago).

You’re utterly unlike me, little thing;
feathers for skin, fluttering ways, those extraordinary sounds – alien almost.
Yet the joy that you rouse in my soul…

Just in case the ‘like’ goes away again – I did visit your poem before – loved the poem. The last line capped the whole work.

Gently, sea breezes murmur, like some romantic ghost,

I did press the ‘like’ button and it showed at first but now it’s gone! It’s a lovely poem Steve. Apologies if I seemed tardy in acknowledging your work.
